We installed a 4000-amp service to feed exterior-mounted switchgear. From there, we carried 2000 amps downstairs to a switchgear setup in an electrical room and 1600 amps to another exterior-mounted switchgear to the right of the 4000-amp unit.

From the switchgear, we ran conduits to every corner of the garage to feed transformers, which in turn supply panels for EV car chargers. In total, the system supports charging approximately 240 cars at once at the AstraZeneca site in Waltham, MA.

All conduits were rigid, bent on-site by me using a machine. The 3″ and 4″ bends were prefabricated off-site to my exact measurements and shipped to us, since we lacked the equipment to bend those sizes. The layout, measurements, and overall design were all mine.

The engineer visited the project, shook my hand, and praised the craftsmanship. To this day, I still work for the company that hired us. This was a collaboration with National Grid,
